Customers are using the same voice and voice commands they’ve been using for years, but they’ve also been using the most complex commands, according to a new report.
Vivint’s customers are using an average of about 2,000 commands on their phones and tablets every minute, with the most complicated commands being “close app, close app,” “open video, open video,” “add video, add video” and “close account.”
“It is difficult to find the exact phrase and the exact command on your device, but if you’re looking for it, you can type it in and it will show up on your screen,” the report says.
The report notes that there are ways to search for the commands, but it also says that many of these commands are too complex to search in the native voice of your phone or tablet.
“The commands are more of a chore to use and harder to search,” the study says.
Vivo’s customer support team has a lot of experience with voice recognition, and they say they’re “always looking for ways to improve the customer experience.”
The company has said that the next version of its voice recognition software, called Voice-to-text (VTT), will allow customers to perform tasks like closing apps and accessing video more easily.VTT will also have support for Siri and Google Now voice commands, the report said.
“The goal is to be able to do things like open an app with a single voice command,” Vivint said in a statement to Business Insider.
“We are working on a few features that are ready to go and are already rolling out to our customers in beta and will be rolling out globally as soon as they are ready.”
Vivinat also said it’s working on other features for customers, like making it easier for them to request help from their team members.
The company also said that it will add new customer support features in the future, but not before customers have had time to learn the new capabilities.
“We’re going to do our best to make it easier to find your issue and get help,” Vivinat said in its statement.
“As always, we are listening to feedback and will continue to improve our service.”
The new Vivint report comes as the tech industry has been facing increased competition from online shopping and more mobile-focused apps.
Many of the top tech companies, like Apple, Google and Amazon, have been investing in mobile technology and have recently rolled out new versions of their products.
