United Airlines is being held liable in the United States for damages to Delta’s Delta Custom Services Map, the airline said Friday.
The airline said in a statement that the “unprecedented” court order barring it from using Delta Custom Service Map will not allow Delta to use the map to make its customers’ trip plans.
The order came after Delta filed suit against United Airlines and the United Nations and the European Union in February 2017.
The United Nations claimed that the map violates its obligations under international law and that the maps were created to give consumers the impression of how Delta is doing business.
The United States government, however, called the maps’ accuracy “inaccurate” and “outdated.”
United Airlines is still not sure how much the map will cost the airline.
In its statement, United said it would work with Delta and the UN to work out an amount.
